Swarmbusin’ Honey

Swarmbustin' HoneyWalt’s Swarmbustin’ Honey
Walt Broughton, fondly known as the "Swarmbuster" delivers his unique honey to honey lovers through local stores and the Internet at 911honey.com. While his website is very simple and basic his honey products are anything but. Comprised of honey, bee pollen, propolis and beeswax products his contribution to healthy nutrition goes beyond just delivering these treats to those who love honey.

"Totally Raw Honey"
Some of Walt’s honey is raw which means it was extracted from the honey comb using centrifugal force falling freely from the comb into the jar. It contains pollen, propolis and honeycomb throughout the jar and is just delicious. Raw honey solidifies over time. If I prefer it to be "runny" I’ll leave the lid on and heat it in my Excalibur Dehydrator which I set on 85 degrees. This gently heats the honey so it’s liquid again without removing the moisture.

How Swarmbustin’ Honey is different
We know honey is the food bees make and store for themselves to eat during the winter. The way Walt harvests the honey and cares for the bees makes the bees stronger and therefore they make more honey than they need, leaving an excess for harvesting.

Bee PollenWhat is Bee Pollen?
Pollen is collected by the bees when they pollinate flowers and is another form of food for them providing protein and carbohydrates. They carry the pollen from the flowers back to the hive. What falls off their legs on the way into the hive is what is harvested and sold in glass jars, which should be refrigerated.

Why does honey come in different colors?
The color of the honey depends upon the type flowers the bees collect nectar from. Sometimes bee keepers take their portable hives to different farmer’s crops to help pollinate them during the growing season.

Other uses of honey
Honey can be used for skin care, soothing sore throats

Error in New Visions
If you saw my ad at the end of my interview with don Miguel Ruiz (who’s going to be at the expo) in the September/October issue of New Visions I have to tell you that the date, time and room for my lecture is different from that ad. Also, the room in the expo guide is Gettysburg 2 and it has been moved to General Session 6. My lecture is Friday at 6:00 PM and Sunday at 3:00 PM in General Session 6. Also the booth number they have for me in the magazine and on the expo’s website has been changed. I’m at booth 511 (in the expo guide this booth is the person selling fountains).

My lecture on Responsible Shopping

I’ll be speaking on Responsible Shopping: Changing the World with Your Everyday Purchases. "When you buy something, you support and encourage the people and organizations that produce it. Learn how to investigate the product’s source, fair trade and employee practices, with a healthy planet / healthy body focus." I hope you’re ready to have some fun and find out how you can vote with your dollars. I’ll be there to guide you toward responsible shopping practices Friday at 6:00 PM and Sunday at 3:00 PM in Gettysburg 2.

Coaching
Once again I’m offering coaching sessions so stop by and I’ll tell you about it.

Come on out and let’s meet!

Enough about me, now for the Expo itself…

Rebounder by Needak

#1 in quality, Soft-Bounce Needak Rebounder Mini-TrampolinesWhat it is
The Needak Rebounder isn’t your normal trampoline. It’s designed to be healthy in 30 different ways; it does amazingly healthy things for your cells and gives you a great work-out at the same time. It’s also a healthy exercise for children and senior citizens.

Options and features
The company uses springs that are made to give gently. It isn’t jarring to the body so it’s healthier for your spine. The mat you bounce on gives just the right amount of support, is resistant to ultra-violet rays and doesn’t absorb moisture. The legs don’t screw in either. To fold it up for easy storage or travel you just pull the legs out, which are on cables so they stay attached, and fold the Rebounder in half. It even comes with a carrying case for easy transporting. If you like something to hold onto while you bounce you can get the optional portable stabilizing bar. If you’d like to increase your work-out or make it more interesting you can exercise to one of the videos for  adults or children.  I haven’t used the videos yet but it sounds like a great way to put some variety into your work-out. It comes with the carrying case, the book "Rebounding to Better Health" and the "Immune System" VHS.

Folding rebounderHealthy benefits
Benefits of Rebounding from their website "Rebounding is an exercise that can reduce your body fat; firms your legs, thighs, abdomen, arms, and hips; increases your agility; improves your sense of balance; strengthens your muscles over all; provides an aerobic effect for your heart; rejuvenates your body when it’s tired, and generally puts you in a state of health and fitness."

Options
The rebounders come in several versions, some folding and some not folding. There is also a folding, platinum edition with its own blue carrying case.

My experience
I really love my rebounding work-outs. I feel good while I’m doing it and after I’m finished. I’ve noticed that I can exercise on it longer than my old trampoline since I would get tired out more easily with the old one and couldn’t exercise as long.

Children
It also keeps the kids occupied and helps them expend excess energy while getting a good workout and contributing to overall health. I love that it helps drain the lymph system and keeps the kids healthy with less colds.

Cautions
I think that doctors recommend that pregnant women not bounce on rebounders. And before starting any new exercise routine you should check with your doctors or health care practitioners.

Conclusions
This Rebounder is an amazing piece of exercise equipment that I highly recommend. (Make sure you read and follow the operating and care instructions.) It’s easy on the body and gives the whole system a great work out. It’s especially good to have in the winter when it’s cold outside and therefore hard to get a good work out. It’s also small so it can fit in an apartment and I like being able to fold it up for storage or to carry it to my mom’s so I have it for visits.
