What this book is about
Stardragon is set in a snowy world where Stardragons live in the clouds. One little dragon falls out of the clouds and lands in a soft pile of snow because he hasn’t learned how to fly yet. He is sad not knowing how he’ll get back home when he meets Billy, a little boy who befriends him and helps him find the sparkly dragon stones that fell with him and are scattered about. The Stardragon’s parents come to find him and wind up taking Billy back to their home in the clouds where Billy and the dragon play until Billy falls asleep and the Stardragon’s parents take Billy home. The Stardragon leaves Billy a gift of one of his precious sparkly dragon stones so he’ll remember their time together.

Conclusions
It’s a sweet book about being nice to people and helping someone. The world is safe and everyone in it is nice. The pictures are nice and the pages are raised in conjunction with the pictures to add another dimension to the experience of the book. Missy and I really liked reading it. It’s always nice to read sweet stories before bed so children go to sleep with nice images in their minds since it affects the dreams they have. It was a nice length too.

Have you ever wanted to have jewelry made just for you based on who you are and what you want in life?

Intro
Right here in Kimberton there’s a magical store called EarthSpeak, chosen Chester County’s Best Find during April 2006, where you can find jewelry designer Scott Fort. In addition to making wonderful pieces of jewelry for the store he also makes custom pieces intuited for customers. He calls it Intuitive Jewelry Design. Let me tell you about my experience with this amazing technique Scott has created.

My experience
We met at the store for an intuitive jewelry session which comes before the jewelry making. Scott and I discussed where I was in my life, where I was headed, what was important to me so he could learn more about me and what I wanted to be, do and have in my life. He used his considerable intuition and abilities as a Reiki Master to bring forth what he needed to create jewelry that would work with my energies and support me where I was in my life and where I wanted to be. It was a magical experience and I felt purification in my energy from spending time with him.

I also used my intuition to choose stones and gems from the vast array he had assembled while he noted the ones I was drawn to. There were some stones which he felt were right for me and when he brought them to my attention I agreed they did feel good.

The jewelry
After the session Scott assembled four pieces for me based on our session and the result was four stunning necklaces with matching earrings. Each piece came with an explanation of the stones and the attributes of the stones and gems in each necklace. When I put each one on they felt natural and seemed to work with my energy to empower me to achieve my goals. They were not only beautiful they were also perfect for me.

Conclusions
I enjoyed working with Scott and the insight I gained about myself from the necklaces he designed for me. It was a nurturing experience I would recommend to anyone. It also makes a perfect gift for the person who has everything.

Extras
Scott makes the necklaces as the focal piece and crafts earrings to match. He can also make other jewelry accessories to complete your set. Personally I like having five components for my sets: necklace, earrings, ring, bracelet and anklet.

Appointments
Appointments for sessions can be made by calling EarthSpeak at 610-933-7375. The session is about 30 minutes and is $35 as of this writing. Right now they have set days where they do blocks of Intuitive Jewelry Design sessions. Scott will do many sessions over a two day period. After the session it can take a couple of weeks for the jewelry to be ready for you to see to make your choices.

No obligations
The cost of the jewelry is in addition to the $35 for the session. You’re not obligated to buy any of them although I’m sure you’ll want to buy them all. Scott usually makes 3-5 necklaces per person and you can buy one, two, three or all of them. Most people buy them all and just love them. They really work with people’s energy and others viewing them love them as well.

How to celebrate the New Year
Let’s take this opportunity to ring in the New Year with good friends, family and the Science of Deliberate Creation calendar, which you can start any time of the year and is also a study guide for the Abraham teachings.

Resolutions
Give yourself a break and go with the flow of energy if you are planning on making New Year’s resolutions. Winter’s energy is one of hibernating, resting and introspection. It’s a great time to renew our energies and go within to decide what we want for the rest of the year. Resolutions and starting new things works best in the Spring, which is when the New Year used to start.

Weight loss
If your resolutions have to do with weight loss than going with full gusto in the Spring will inspire you even more and make it much easier for you to lose the weight you want since our metabolism slows down in the winter (self-survival mechanism from millenniums of there not being enough food in the winter months). So, not only will you have Spring helping you with it’s energy of starting new things but your body will also shed those extra pounds more readily. Now that doesn’t give you permission to pig out until the Spring, just go back to the healthy eating you were doing before the holidays or start changing your diet slowly (oh, and check with your doctor if you feel you need to, because I’m not a doctor, nor do I play one on television.)

Setting goals
With all this time to go within and decide what you want you can make your lists of what you want to have in 2007. I set my own goals in the following categories: personal, relationships, house, work, vacation, volunteer, financial money, health, family and spiritual. Martin will be setting his own goals and we’ll compare the two when we are done and create our common goals. If everyone takes the time to do this them we are creating deliberately instead of haphazardly.

So take this time to set your goals for the coming year and fine-tune them from now until Spring when you’ll implement them and all of nature will be behind you supporting your efforts to make them happen. (If you don’t want to wait and decide to get started anyway, go right ahead. If you succeed, great, if not just do what you can do now and begin again in the Spring.)

What this book is about
A Wish to Be a Christmas Tree is a nice children’s book for this time of the year. It’s about a tree that gets too big to be a Christmas tree anymore but still wants to be important and special to a family at Christmas time. What its friends help it realize is that it’s been important and special to them all along and they are glad it will continue to be there for them for many more years. Through their friendship the tree awakens to its own beauty and value.

Cutting down trees
If you are opposed to cutting down trees for decorative purposes then you wouldn’t want to get this book for your child since it is about cutting down live evergreen trees for the purpose of decorating them for the Christmas holiday. I have noticed that there are tree farms now and the trees are planted specifically to be cut down for Christmas trees. I don’t know if the places that sell them already cut have brought them from a tree farm or have cut them from a living forest. You can find that out from the seller, just be aware that they don’t always know and what they are told by their provider may be true and may not be true. If you only want to buy your tree from a tree farm so you aren’t thinning out forests you can go to a tree farm yourself. Another option is purchasing a live evergreen with the root bulb and planting it when you’re done.

Planting trees after Christmas
If you have purchased a live evergreen with the root bulb you want to make sure you have dug a hole for it to go in before the ground freezes for the winter. This way you can take the tree out and plant it in the hole while it is still dormant. Planting it in the Spring is risky since it may go into shock and die. I suggest getting directions from the nursery you purchase the tree from so you can enjoy the beautiful tree for years to come.

Conclusions
This book is nicely written with beautiful pictures. It can help those who want what they don’t have find the joy in what they do have. I got it for Missy for Christmas and I know she’ll like it.

About this movie
This movie is the story about how Neale Donald Walsch’s conversation with God started leading up to it’s success. I was lucky enough to go to a pre-screening of this movie at the Common Ground film circle so I was part of the discussions that took place after the movie.

What this movie isn’t
This movie isn’t an explanation of the Conversation with God books. In the conversations after the movie many people thought it would be about the books themselves. I guess they were hoping for something to help them understand the writings better or they might have been looking for some spectacular showcase of what God was talking about in those books. Hey, that would be pretty interesting. I think I’d even like to see that. How about you?

My experience
This was an interesting look at how we can turn our lives around and be whatever we want to be. I think Neale learned how his life wound up being so NOT what he wanted when he learned about The Law of Attraction (he wrote the forward to that book). Since I’ve been working with the book Ask and It Is Given I found this movie particularly interesting as a case study for how our thinking creates our life experience.

Conclusions
If you are interested in how the Conversation with God books got started and want to see Neale rise out of the ashes then this is a good movie to watch. Just don’t expect an explanation of the teachings in the books or discussions of it.
