What this is
The Moses Code movie is based on the book, The Moses Code: The Most Powerful Manifestation Tool in the History of the World by James Twyman. The movie took a phrase that has been misunderstood and misused for thousands of years and gave it back its original power by demystifying it. It’s the way to bring through you what it is that you want to experience in this life.

Why The Moses Code is important
1) It continues the conversation that was started in The Secret. Michael Beckwith noted at Agape Revelations in 2007 that it was meant to start a conversation, it wasn’t the whole story. So now we have the next piece. Cool. It will teach us how to use "the inherent power of the soul" to bring about a new world.
2) The release of the film is being combined with the use of the technology, taught in the book and movie, through a prayer vigil that will be conducted around the globe.

Local screenings 
In the same manner Indigo and a few other movies were premiered, The Moses Code was shown in small groups around the world.

If you missed seeing it near you, today’s the day the movie goes on sale. Hay House has it on sale for 20% off.

Event Dates
There was a world Wide prayer vigil April 6, 2008 for those who learned the code on April 5th. They participated in a "group hug" focused on Jerusalem.
On location in Jerusalem June 24, 2008 Many will be physically surround Jerusalem to bless it. There is a scene in the movie from when they did this before. It sent chills up my spine.

Complimentary and comparative practices
Might this be like the teachings of the Six Heart Virtues as taught in the Living from the Heart e-paper? It’s not. It can have the same results but it doesn’t focus on the same thing.

What this movie is about
If you’ve read the Peaceful Warrior books then you already know this is based on the story of gymnast Dan Millman. He meets an amazing man, whom he calls Socrates, and starts on a transformational journey to live his life differently. Being here, now is one of the most important lessons he learns.

My experience
There were some things in the movie that I don’t remember from the book but I also read it in the mid 1990s, so I probably forgot a few things. The movie was well done, of true feature-film quality, and quite enjoyable and transformational to watch.

Dan Millman has shared his experiences, insights and ideas with us through his many books including:

Dan found there were many questions people had after reading the book and watching the movie and they are answered in Wisdom of the Peaceful Warrior: A Companion to the Book That Changes Lives (Millman, Dan). Sounds like a winner.

Conclusion
This movie gives you just enough material to get your wondering how much more you life can be while entertaining you and throwing in some amazingly fit bodies, a little mystery, competition, self-discovery and love.  If you like good movies, watch this one.

About this movie
This movie is the story about how Neale Donald Walsch’s conversation with God started leading up to it’s success. I was lucky enough to go to a pre-screening of this movie at the Common Ground film circle so I was part of the discussions that took place after the movie.

What this movie isn’t
This movie isn’t an explanation of the Conversation with God books. In the conversations after the movie many people thought it would be about the books themselves. I guess they were hoping for something to help them understand the writings better or they might have been looking for some spectacular showcase of what God was talking about in those books. Hey, that would be pretty interesting. I think I’d even like to see that. How about you?

My experience
This was an interesting look at how we can turn our lives around and be whatever we want to be. I think Neale learned how his life wound up being so NOT what he wanted when he learned about The Law of Attraction (he wrote the forward to that book). Since I’ve been working with the book Ask and It Is Given I found this movie particularly interesting as a case study for how our thinking creates our life experience.

Conclusions
If you are interested in how the Conversation with God books got started and want to see Neale rise out of the ashes then this is a good movie to watch. Just don’t expect an explanation of the teachings in the books or discussions of it.

What this movie is about
The Secret (Original Edition) is a movie based on the Universal law called “The Law of Attraction” which is part of a greater Universal law called "The Law of Vibration". Through the centuries the Law of Attraction was kept secret but now it is being shared with the world. The movie explains how “The Secret”, which is actually the Law of Attraction, was suppressed and why. Experts on The Law of Attraction explain how the law works and how we can use it in our everyday lives to create the life we want. They reveal to us how the Law of Attraction is always operating in our lives whether we are aware of the law or not. Now that we are aware we can use The Law of Attraction to our advantage. For every aspect of our lives, from money to relationships, this movie outlines how the Law of Attraction can be made to work for us.

Caution!! Esther Hicks not in version currently being sold on The Secret website
Make sure you get the DVD that has Esther Hicks in it, that would be the version sold as "Original Edition" by Amazon.com. There is more to The Secret than what is on this DVD either way so make sure you at least get the DVD that has her in it. Esther and Jerry Hicks have even taken it a step  further with this DVD Introducing Abraham – The Secret Behind "The Secret". I haven’t seen it yet but I’ll let you know when I do.

How to tell which version you have
The one with Esther Hicks is referred to as the "Original Edition". The one without her is the "Extended Version", it’s 2 minutes longer.

More revealed
At Revelation 2007, Michael Beckwith mentioned that the movie was meant to start a conversation, it isn’t the whole story. To learn more about The Law of Vibration, which encompasses the Law of Attraction, you may wish to  delve further into his teachings as well as the teachings of other experts from the movie.

How the law works
Basically, the way the Law of Attraction works is that everything you put your attention on comes to you, whether you want it or not. Even if you are saying, “NO,” to something in your loudest voice you are still giving it your attention and therefore attracting it into your experience. That’s how Mr. Bush became president. So many people were pushing against having him as president that they were giving him all their attention. So, what do we do if we don’t want something in our lives? Don’t give it any of our attention. Giving our attention to what we DO want is how we get what we DO want. The movie explains it very nicely as does the book Ask and It Is Given, whose author is one of the experts in the movie.

Other teachers of the Law of Attraction
This information has been touched on in so many different teachings throughout the centuries and seeing it brought to life in this way is a great confirmation and reminder of those other teachings. It even helped me understand those other teachings better. Other books I’ve read during my own journey that mention or teach this: Conversations with God, The Power of Now, Ask and It Is Given, The Abundance Book, and many more. Even Doreen Virtue talks about how she was raised in a tradition that taught about the power of thought and how we can bring into manifestation whatever we want. I read about some of her experiences in The Lightworker’s Way.

Gratitude
One thing you can do right now to start changing what you attract to yourself is start expressing, and feeling gratitude for all that you have in your life. You have to really feel it, though. Feel gratitude for everything that you possibly can and more will flow into your life.

My experience
I just finished reading Ask and It Is Given and this movie really brought it home. The movie was mostly experts speaking with skits to illustrate the point they were making but it was well done. It really wasn’t as boring as I’m making it sound here. The skits were like scenes from movies and were funny. When the experts were talking they weren’t just talking heads, either. The backgrounds were different based on the person’s expertise. It was great to watch. I had a new perspective on life after that and things look different now that I’m using the principles and some of the exercises they mentioned. This, in conjunction with Ask and It Is Given and The Abundance Book, has given me the additional tools to help me have the life I want and that’s not just material things. True success, as they mention it in the movie and I certainly agree with, is living the life you want in every aspect of your life. For me that means being blissfully happy all the time, having an abundance of money, having all my needs met, being in the flow of life with the knowledge that everything I want and need comes to me freely, having wonderfully fulfilling relationships, sharing, having a fulfilling spiritual life, having fulfilling relaxation and vacation time, fulfilling activities (formerly known as work) and having fun no matter what I choose to do. (There’s probably more but this is what was on the top of my head.)

My follow-up
I went out to Los Angeles to see Michael Beckwith at Agape and it was worth the trip. He’s become so popular since the movie and his visits with Oprah and Larry King that they might have to start televising it so the whole country can see it.

Conclusion
If you are interested in taking control of your life and having everything you want, and everyone can have everything they want since there is more than enough for everyone so you aren’t taking away from someone else if you have everything you want, this is a great place to start. Then I suggest reading Ask and It Is Given for specific exercises (they call them processes) you can use to make the life you want and stop resisting your good.

The rest of the story
At Revelations Michael Beckwith revealed that The Secret was meant to start a conversation, it isn’t the whole story. Delve further into his teachings and the teachings of the others in the movie to learn more. Someone at the Revelations conference in 2007 said the problem was that the people making the movie didn’t know the right questions to ask.

I went and saw The Celestine Prophecy Movie on opening weekend. It was wonderful.

Movie evaluation
It wasn’t a big budget Hollywood movie, which might have been to its benefit. It managed to conveyed the principles introduced  in the book The Celestine Prophecy without going crazy with special effects.  I got a real sense that they were really being seen by the one who was in the position (in the movie) of viewing them at the time. It added to my understanding of what they were trying to teach the main character. The setting was absolutely beautiful.

Story evaluation
Shortening
It’s been a long time since I read the book but I remember things happening a little differently. If I’m correct, and the story was changed for the movie (I can’t find my book to check for accuracy – I think I lent it to someone years ago) the writers seem to have adhered to the basic plot line while changing events a little in order to deliver a movie of normal length. I honestly don’t recall all that was in the movie but not the book.

Special effects
The special effects were used to show the energy of all living things. How everyone and everything has its own energy and how this energy flows between all of us and all living things. Energy can even help guide us, if we know what we’re looking for.

Character development
I think there could have been more done to give us a better sense of who the characters were, why they were involved, what their abilities were and how they got those abilities. I think this was attempted in the manner in which the characters interacted with each other during certain scenes and through various dialogs but it seemed a little contrived. I don’t know how it would have come across to someone who hadn’t read any of the books or if they were able to follow it.

What I got out of it
I had forgotten a lot of the principles from the book. After all, it was 1994 when I read it, 12 years ago. It makes me want to read it again and study the Insights. What I’m calling "principles" they call "Insights", so I’m switching to "Insights" now. One thing I had forgotten was one way in which relationships can be more harmonious. In the book, the Insights explain how people get their energy from the Source of all Life. What happens in a relationship is we stop getting our energy from Source and start looking to the other in the relationship for our energy. Well, no one wants to lose their own energy so a battle for control of the energy ensues. One way to avoid this battle and make all parties much happier is to send the other person loving energy all the time, no matter what. When this happens the other person can’t steal your energy. How can something freely and lovingly offered be stolen? It really changes the dynamics of the relationship. I started doing it right away, sending love from my heart to whoever I was with. It’s powerful stuff! (Now I just have to remember to do it all the time.)

Conclusions
If you haven’t read the book I do suggest seeing the movie. If you like the movie then you’ll probably want to read the book. You’ll love that book so much you’ll want to read the sequels: The Tenth Insight : Holding the Vision, The Celestine Vision : Living the New Spiritual Awareness and The Secret of Shambhala : In Search of the Eleventh Insight. By making the story shorter the writers were able to be more succinct in their explanation of the Insights contained in the original book while offering a movie that isn’t too lengthy.
